Our High School Marching Band did such an AWESOME job during their first Football Game together! Here is a link to some pictures from Mr. Dave Ferguson with the Williamston Today & Lansing State Herald.
Click Here to see these awesome pictures! This is a simple tool that allows us to pull brass mouthpieces out of the instrument when they get stuck. Brass mouthpieces have a tendency to get stuck, which is really unfortunate. It is a tough process to get the mouthpiece out of the instrument, and can sometimes be damaging to the instrument.
Our students will be so happy to know that their mouthpiece will be able to taken out easily! The mouthpiece puller will last for many years and it is something that won't need to be replaced if taken care of properly. Thank you in advance for your help to music classrooms! Donate Here Here is the link to sign up to bring items or volunteer to help before, during and after the game! Thank you so much for helping out!

The students recently joined the Grand Ledge Wind Symphony in concert to play their concerts for family and friends before the event. The band will perform a final farewell concert on Tuesday, January 20th at 7:30pm in McGoff Auditorium. Congratulations to Lynn Kelsey and the students for their accomplishments. 6th-8th grade members are invited to a bowling party on Saturday, December 6 from 10am-12pm. $5 includes bowling shoes, 2 games of bowling, 1 game of laser tag, and pizza/pop.

7:30pm- HS New Gym Middle school students should meet in the HS Band Room at 7:10pm with their instrument, music and optional stand. *Percussionists should set up equipment right away in the gym* The concert will be a combined concert with the 7th, 8th, and high school bands, so students should plan to stay for the entire event. Students should wear *school appropriate* outfits to the concert, with a plain white shirt and black pants and black shoes/socks. Please no jeans, exercise pants or tennis shoes. Students are allowed to wear ties, holiday hats and decorate their instruments for this concert. Questions: [email protected] Interested 7th and 8th grade band students will be participating in the annual solo and ensemble festival this year at Charlotte Middle School on Saturday, November 22.
Students will get a performance time and are expected to be in the warm-up room a half hour before they play. Performers should dress nicely and bring their ORIGINAL score with them to the event. They will receive a rating of 1-5 and earn medals for a 1 or 2 rating. Our 3rd Annual Scrap Metal Driver is fast approaching and we need help. We are only doing one day this year. We will need to have as many students and parents helping as possible.
The time this year is from 8 am - 6pm. We will have 2 containers. One for non ferrous metals and one for other metals. If you have any questions please call Vicki Schneider 517-449-3054 leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Williamston Band Boosters Team Vicki Schneider - President Carolyn McLaughlin - Vice President Deanna Stampfly - Secretary Kathy Baker - Treasurer The high school band is in need of some old items that you might have
laying around in your basement or garage. As you may have heard, our halftime show this year includes the Sanford and Son theme. In the TV show Sanford and his son owned a salvage yard. We are looking for typical salvage/junk yard items that we can have our percussionists play on for their feature in the middle of this song. The best items would be metal and ceramic pieces that will create a fairly loud sound when drummed on. We are also looking for recognizable items such as sinks, chandeliers, metal radiators, ladders, metal chairs, etc. Some of the items will be hung and therefore could be lighter weight and smaller. Please keep in mind that once we have used these to play on they would not come back in the same condition. These should be items that you are planning to get rid of or have no use for any more. If you think you have anything you would be willing to donate, please feel free to send me a picture or an email with the description. |
